Unemployment has been on a steady downward trend for the past ten years, making keeping good employees a greater challenge than ever. Employee burnout is an important issue to address to ensure that your employees remain productive and happy.

This article from our friends at Rue Insurance has several good suggestions:

  • Make sure that workloads are appropriate.

  • Have managers meet regularly with employees to facilitate communication.

  • Address negative and illegal actions in the workplace immediately.

  • Recognize and celebrate employees’ successes.

  • Encourage a positive work-life balance.

  • Promote exercise at your organization.

I would only add one item to this list:

Maintain your IT infrastructure.

Frequent glitches and outages disrupt your employees’ workflow which lowers morale. Unreliable technology can also cause your employees to question management’s commitment and professionalism. If your company is experiencing these issues, talk to us.
